Marinade Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

Soak the Skewers (if using wooden skewers)

If you're using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning while grilling.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, lemon juice, salt, and cumin powder. Mix well to form a smooth marinade.

  3. 3

    Marinate the Paneer

Add the cubed paneer, bell peppers, and onion into the marinade. Stir gently to coat all pieces evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best results) to allow the flavors to infuse.

Grilling

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill/Tandoor

Preheat the grill or tandoor to a high temperature (around 200°C/400°F).

  2. 5

    Assemble the Skewers

Thread the marinated paneer, bell peppers, and onion pieces onto the skewers, alternating the ingredients for even cooking.

  3. 6

    Grill the Paneer Tikka

Place the skewers on the preheated grill/tandoor. Grill for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until the paneer is golden and slightly charred.

  4. 7

    Serve

Remove from the grill and serve hot with mint chutney and lemon wedges.
