Method

Marinating the Chicken

  1. 1

    Prepare Marinade

In a large bowl, combine yogurt, minced garlic, grated ginger, ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, and lemon juice. Mix well until smooth.

  2. 2

    Marinate Chicken

Add the chicken thighs to the marinade mixture. Ensure each piece is well coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for better flavor.

Making Mint Sauce

  1. 3

    Blend Ingredients

In a blender, combine fresh mint leaves, cilantro leaves, green chili, lemon juice, salt, and water. Blend until smooth. Taste and adjust salt if necessary.

Cooking the Chicken

  1. 4

    Heat Oil

In a large skillet or frying pan, heat the oil over medium heat.

  2. 5

    Cook Onions

Add the finely chopped onion to the skillet and sauté until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 6

    Cook Marinated Chicken

Add the marinated chicken to the skillet. Cook on medium heat until the chicken is browned and cooked through, about 10-15 minutes.

  4. 7

    Add Cream and Water

Once the chicken is cooked, add the cream and water to the skillet. Stir well and let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
