Method

Preparation of Chicken

  1. 1

    Cut the Chicken

Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large bowl.

Making the Batter

  1. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, combine gram flour, rice flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, salt, and baking powder.

  2. 3

    Add Water

Gradually add water to the dry ingredients while whisking until you achieve a smooth, thick batter.

Coating and Frying

  1. 4

    Coat Chicken

Dip each piece of chicken into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.

  2. 5

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 6

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully drop the battered chicken pieces into the hot oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.

  4. 7

    Drain Excess Oil

Use a slotted spoon to remove the chicken pakoras from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
