Chicken Marinade

Method

Marinating the Chicken

  1. 1

Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

Add cornstarch, soy sauce, ginger-garlic paste, salt, black pepper powder, and water to the chicken.

  3. 3

Mix well until the chicken is evenly coated with the marinade.

  4. 4

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Cooking the Chicken

  1. 5

Heat oil in a large frying pan or wok over medium-high heat.

  2. 6

Once the oil is hot, add the marinated chicken pieces in batches and fry until they are golden brown and cooked through (about 5-7 minutes).

  3. 7

Remove the fried chicken and drain on paper towels. Set aside.

Preparing the Sauce

  1. 8

In the same pan, add a little more oil if necessary, and sauté the chopped onion until translucent.

  2. 9

Add the diced green bell pepper, minced garlic, and ginger. Sauté for an additional 2-3 minutes.

  3. 10

In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, tomato ketchup, chili sauce, vinegar, sugar, and water.

  4. 11

Pour the sauce mixture into the pan, and bring to a simmer.

  5. 12

Add the fried chicken to the pan and stir well to coat the chicken with the sauce. Cook for another 3-5 minutes.

  6. 13

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Serving

  1. 14

Transfer the Chicken Manchurian to a serving dish.

  2. 15

Garnish with chopped spring onions before serving.

  3. 16

Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
