Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Spice Rub

In a small bowl, combine cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well to create a spice rub.

  2. 2

    Season the Beef

Rub the spice mixture all over the beef tenderloin, ensuring an even coating.

  3. 3

    Cook the New Potatoes

In a pot, boil the new potatoes in salted water until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  4. 4

    Caramelize the Onions

In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Cook slowly, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and caramelized, about 15 minutes.

  5. 5

    Sear the Beef

In a large skillet or cast-iron pan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over high heat. Add the seasoned beef tenderloin and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting time for desired doneness.

  6. 6

    Rest the Beef

Remove the beef from the skillet and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

  7. 7

    Finish the Potatoes

In the same skillet, add the butter and drained new potatoes. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until lightly browned.

  8. 8

    Serve

Slice the beef tenderloin and serve it on a plate with caramelized onions and sautéed new potatoes.
