Prepare the Batter
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter until well mixed.

Combine Ingredients
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; some lumps are okay.

Cook the Pancakes
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter. Pour about 1/3 cup of batter for each pancake onto the skillet. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown.

Serve
Remove pancakes from the skillet and stack them on a plate. Serve warm with maple syrup drizzled on top.
