Method
Tuna Salad Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Tuna Salad
In a mixing bowl, combine the canned tuna, mayonnaise, finely chopped celery, red onion, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
French Fries Preparation
- 2
Cook the French Fries
Preheat your oven according to the package instructions for the frozen French fries. Spread the fries out on a baking sheet and sprinkle with salt. Bake in the oven until crispy, usually around 20-25 minutes.
Tuna Melt Assembly
- 3
Assemble the Tuna Melt
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Butter one side of each slice of rye bread. Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet. Top it with a slice of Swiss cheese, then add a generous portion of the prepared tuna salad, followed by another slice of Swiss cheese. Place the second slice of rye bread on top, buttered side up.
- 4
Grill the Sandwich
Cook the sandwich for about 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwich using a spatula and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side until it's golden brown and the cheese has melted.
- 5
Add Tomato
Once the sandwich is cooked, remove it from the skillet and add the sliced tomato on top before cutting the sandwich in half.
