Teriyaki Sauce

Method

Preparation of Salmon

  1. 1

    Season the Salmon

Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides of the fillets with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Salmon

Place the seasoned salmon fillets in a shallow dish and set aside while you prepare the teriyaki sauce.

Preparation of Teriyaki Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, cornstarch, and water. Whisk until the cornstarch is fully dissolved.

  2. 4

    Cook the Sauce

Heat the saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a simmer while stirring constantly. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cooking the Salmon

  1. 5

    Preheat and Cook

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Place the salmon fillets on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

  2. 6

    Glaze the Salmon

During the last minute of cooking, brush the teriyaki sauce generously over the salmon fillets. Allow it to caramelize slightly.

Serving

  1. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Transfer the salmon fillets to a serving plate. Drizzle any remaining teriyaki sauce over the top. Sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
