Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Tomato
Wash the tomato and slice it into thin rounds.
- 2
Prepare the French Fries
If using frozen French fries, preheat the oven and cook according to package instructions. If making from scratch, cut potatoes into fries, soak in water for 30 minutes, drain, and then fry or bake until golden and crispy.
Cooking the Turkey Melt
- 3
Assemble the Sandwich
On a clean surface, lay out the slices of rye bread. On two slices, layer the roast turkey, followed by a slice of Swiss cheese and a few slices of tomato. Top with the remaining slices of rye bread to form two sandwiches.
- 4
Grill the Sandwiches
In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Place one sandwich in the skillet and grill for about 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwich, add the remaining butter to the skillet, and grill the other side for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese melts and the bread is golden brown.
- 5
Repeat for Second Sandwich
Repeat the grilling process for the second sandwich using the remaining butter.

Plate the Dish
Cut each grilled turkey melt in half and place on a plate. Serve alongside the French fries, sprinkling them with salt to taste. Offer ketchup on the side for dipping.
