Base Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Beat the Eggs

In a medium bowl, crack the 3 extra large eggs. Add salt and black pepper. Whisk the eggs until the mixture is well combined and slightly frothy.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Fillings

If using any optional fillings like bell peppers, onions, spinach, cheddar cheese, ham, or mushrooms, chop or dice them to your desired size.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a non-stick skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat until melted and bubbling.

  2. 4

    Cook the Omelet

Pour the beaten egg mixture into the skillet, tilting the pan to ensure the eggs spread evenly. As the eggs begin to set around the edges, use a spatula to gently lift the edges, allowing the uncooked eggs to flow underneath.

  3. 5

    Add Fillings

Once the eggs are mostly set but still slightly runny on top, sprinkle your choice of fillings (vegetables, cheese, and meats) evenly over one half of the omelet.

  4. 6

    Fold and Finish Cooking

Carefully fold the other half of the omelet over the filled half. Continue cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until the eggs are fully set and the cheese is melted.

  5. 7

    Serve

Slide the omelet onto a plate and serve immediately. Enjoy your plain omelet with your chosen fillings!
