Method
Pastrami Sandwich
- 1
Prepare the Onions and Tomatoes
Slice the onion into thin rings and the tomato into thin slices.
- 2
Grill the Onions
In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the sliced onions, season with salt and black pepper, and sauté until they are caramelized and golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.
- 3
Assemble the Sandwich
Lay out two slices of rye bread. Place 4 oz of pastrami on each slice, add a slice of Swiss cheese, a few rings of the grilled onions, and a couple of tomato slices. Top with the remaining slices of rye bread.
- 4
Grill the Sandwich
In the same skillet, melt the remaining tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Place the assembled sandwich in the skillet, cooking each side until golden brown and the cheese has melted, about 3-5 minutes per side.
French Fries
- 5
Prepare the Fries
Preheat your oven according to the package instructions for the frozen French fries.
- 6
Cook the Fries
Spread the frozen French fries on a baking sheet. Drizzle with vegetable oil and sprinkle with salt. Bake according to package instructions until crispy and golden brown, usually 20-25 minutes.
- 7
Serve
Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and serve alongside the pastrami sandwich.
