Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt. Mix well until all dry ingredients are combined.

2

Add Wet Ingredients

Add the milk and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Whisk together until you have a smooth batter. It should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.

3

Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. You will need enough oil to submerge the Oreos. To test if the oil is hot enough, drop a small amount of batter into the oil; if it sizzles and rises to the surface, it's ready.

Frying the Oreos

4

Coat the Oreos

Take an Oreo cookie and dip it into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated. Allow any excess batter to drip off.

5

Fry the Oreos

Carefully place the coated Oreo into the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown. Do not overcrowd the pan; fry in batches if necessary.

6

Drain Excess Oil

Once fried, use a slotted spoon to remove the Oreos from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.

Serving

7

Dust with Powdered Sugar

While the fried Oreos are still warm, dust them generously with powdered sugar. Serve immediately for the best taste.
