Cooking

Method

Chicken Marinade

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Cut the chicken breasts into tender-sized strips, about 1 inch wide.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, combine buttermilk, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken strips to the mixture, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.

Breading

  1. 3

    Prepare the Breading Station

In a shallow dish, whisk together flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, beat the eggs and mix with milk.

  2. 4

    Bread the Chicken

Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, then dip into the egg mixture, and finally coat with the flour mixture again. Place the breaded chicken on a wire rack to rest for 15 minutes.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Fry the Chicken Tenders

Carefully add the breaded chicken strips to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a thermometer to ensure they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).

  3. 7

    Drain and Serve

Remove the chicken tenders from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
