Preparation of Meatballs

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form Meatballs

Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  3. 3

    Bake Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for 20 minutes or until they are cooked through and browned.

Cooking Pasta and Assembling

  1. 4

    Cook Ziti

While the meatballs are baking, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add ziti pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 5

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked ziti pasta with the marinara sauce and gently fold in the baked meatballs.

  3. 6

    Assemble Ziti

In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread half of the ziti and meatball mixture. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the top. Repeat with the remaining ziti and cheese.

Baking

  1. 7

    Bake the Ziti

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

  2. 8
