Meatballs

Crispy Potatoes

Method

Meatballs Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Meatball Mixture

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, egg, chopped parsley, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into small meatballs, about the size of a golf ball. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Crispy Potatoes Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Potatoes

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Toss the diced potatoes with olive oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl until well coated.

  2. 4

    Bake the Potatoes

Spread the potatoes on a baking sheet in a single layer and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden and crispy, flipping halfway through.

Tomato Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Cook the Sauce

In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

  2. 6

    Add Garlic and Tomatoes

Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, then add canned crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Simmer for 15 minutes.

Cooking Meatballs

  1. 7

    Cook the Meatballs

In a large skillet, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.

  2. 8

    Combine with Sauce

Once browned, pour the tomato sauce over the meatballs and let simmer for an additional 10 minutes.

Assembly

  1. 9

    Plate the Dish

On a serving plate, place a portion of the crispy potatoes and top with meatballs and tomato sauce. Garnish with additional parsley if desired.
