Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the Russet potatoes and cut them into even chunks. Place them in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil.

  2. 2

    Cook the Potatoes

Once boiling, reduce heat to medium and cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender.

  3. 3

    Drain and Steam Dry

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Allow them to steam dry for a few minutes to remove excess moisture.

  4. 4

    Add Ingredients

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Add the roasted garlic, heavy cream, and mix well. Pour this mixture over the potatoes.

  5. 5

    Mash the Potatoes

Using a potato masher or a fork, mash the potatoes until smooth. Stir in fresh chives and adjust seasoning with cracked black pepper and salt to taste.

  6. 6

    Serve

Transfer the garlic mashed potatoes to a serving dish, garnishing with additional chives if desired, and serve warm.
