
Fogo Feijoada Recipe
A traditional black bean stew with sausage served over white rice. Season it to your liking with fresh orange, Malagueta hot sauce and farofa, baked yuca flour with bacon.

Prepare the Beans
Soak the black beans overnight in water. Drain and rinse before cooking.

Cook the Bacon
In a large pot, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the grease in the pot.

Add Sausages
Slice the smoked sausage and chorizo, then add to the pot. Cook for about 5 minutes until browned.

Combine Ingredients
Add soaked black beans, chicken broth, bay leaves, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.

Simmer
Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until beans are tender.

Cook the Rice
While the stew simmers, cook the white rice according to package instructions.

Serve
Serve the feijoada over white rice, garnished with orange slices, Malagueta hot sauce, and a sprinkle of farofa.
