Cottage Pie Directions
- 1
Prepare the Beef Filling
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and diced celery, cooking until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- 2
Cook the Beef
Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- 3
Season the Mixture
Stir in the corn, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- 4
Assemble the Pie
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Transfer the beef mixture to a baking dish. Spread the prepared mashed potatoes evenly on top of the beef mixture.
- 5
Add Cheese
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the mashed potatoes.
- 6
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 7
Garnish and Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
