1. Prepare the Ingredients

Chop all the vegetables (onion, tomato, carrot, potato, green bell pepper) and set aside. Mince the garlic and ginger.

In a large pot, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

3. Cook the Chicken

Add the chicken pieces to the pot and cook until they are no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.

4. Add Spices

Stir in the turmeric powder, cumin seeds, coriander powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.

5. Add Vegetables

Add the chopped onion, tomato, carrot, potato, and green bell pepper to the pot. Stir well to combine.

6. Add Liquid

Pour in the water or chicken broth. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 30 minutes.

7. Final Touch

Once the chicken is cooked through and the vegetables are tender, taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Remove from heat.

8. Garnish and Serve

Ladle the Shorba into bowls, garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves, and serve hot.
