Pizza Margherita Directions
- 1
Prepare the Dough
If using store-bought pizza dough, follow the package instructions. If making from scratch, prepare the dough, let it rise for about 1 hour, and then roll it out on a floured surface.
- 2
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 250°C (482°F) or as high as it will go, ideally using a pizza stone.
- 3
- 4
Assemble the Pizza
Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the rolled-out dough. Tear the mozzarella into pieces and distribute it over the sauce. Add the roasted garlic cloves and sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.
- 5
Bake the Pizza
Transfer the pizza to the preheated oven (or onto the pizza stone) and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
- 6
Add Fresh Basil
Once out of the oven, drizzle with a little olive oil and scatter fresh basil leaves over the top.
- 7
Slice and Serve
Allow the pizza to cool for a minute, then slice and serve hot.
