Fried Dill Pickles
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Dipping Sauce
In a small bowl, combine your choice of hot sauce with mayonnaise to create the Fire dipping sauce. Adjust the heat to your liking.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornmeal, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- 3
Prepare the Pickles
Dip each dill pickle slice into the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture until fully coated.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Pickles
Carefully add the coated pickles to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes, then remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 6
Serve
Serve the fried dill pickles hot with the Fire dipping sauce on the side.
