Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Caramelize the Onions

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions, a pinch of salt, and cook until soft and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In another skillet, cook the applewood-smoked bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on a paper towel.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Patties

In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Form into two patties.

  4. 4

    Cook the Burgers

In the same skillet as the bacon, cook the patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Melt the Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place a generous amount of bleu cheese on each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Burgers

Toast the burger buns if desired. Layer lettuce and tomato on the bottom bun, then add the burger patty with melted bleu cheese. Top with caramelized onions and crispy bacon. Cover with the top bun.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the burgers immediately, optionally with fries or a side salad.
