Cooking Pasta

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring water to a rolling boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt.

Cook Pasta
Add 8 cups of pasta to the boiling water. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta and set aside, reserving 1 cup of the pasta water.
Preparing Vegetables

Chop Vegetables
While the pasta is cooking, chop the bell peppers, zucchini, cherry tomatoes, and carrots into bite-sized pieces.

Prepare Broccoli
Cut broccoli into small florets and set aside.

Peel and mince the garlic cloves.
Making the Sauce

Sauté Vegetables
In a large skillet, heat 4 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic, and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Add Cherry Tomatoes
Add the cherry tomatoes and continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Add Broth and Season
Pour in 1 cup of vegetable broth, and season with black pepper and red pepper flakes. Stir well and let it simmer for 3-4 minutes.
Combining and Serving

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the vegetables and sauce. Toss gently to combine, adding reserved pasta water as necessary to loosen the sauce.

Add Cheese and Basil
Remove from heat, stir in 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese and 0.5 cup of chopped fresh basil until well mixed.
