Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Burger Patties

In a mixing bowl, divide the ground beef into two equal portions (½ lb each) and gently form them into patties, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat. Season each patty with salt and pepper. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and place a slice of Dubliner cheese on top. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the burger reaches your desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Grill the Buns

While the burgers are cooking, cut the potato buns in half and lightly brush the cut sides with olive oil. Grill or toast the buns on the grill or skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

Cabbage Preparation

  1. 4

    Sauté the Cabbage

In a small skillet, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and heat over medium heat. Add the grated cabbage and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened and slightly caramelized. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each grilled potato bun, layer the sautéed cabbage first, then place the cooked burger patty with melted Dubliner cheese on top. Add pickles, sliced onion, lettuce, and tomato as desired. Cover with the top half of the bun.

  2. 6

    Serve with Fries

Serve the assembled cheeseburgers with a side of crinkle cut fries, either homemade or frozen, cooked according to package instructions.
