Fries

Method

Preparing Fries

  1. 1

    Frying the Fries

In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

Carefully add the crinkle cut fries to the hot oil in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes.

  3. 3

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fries from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  4. 4

Sprinkle with salt while still hot.

Making the Chili

  1. 5

    Cooking the Chili

In a large skillet or pot, brown the smoked beef brisket over medium heat until heated through and slightly crispy.

  2. 6

Add the canned kidney beans, diced tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and beef broth.

  3. 7

Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally until the chili thickens slightly.

Assembling the Dish

  1. 8

    Final Assembly

On a large serving platter or individual plates, layer the fried crinkle cut fries.

  2. 9

Spoon a generous amount of the smoked beef brisket chili over the fries.

  3. 10

Top with shredded cheddar cheese and diced red onion.

  4. 11

Serve immediately with sour cream on the side, if desired.
