Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, green bell pepper, and celery. Sauté for about 5 minutes, until the vegetables are softened.

  2. 2

    Add Sausage and Chicken

Stir in the sliced andouille sausage and cubed chicken breast. Cook for another 5-7 minutes until the chicken is browned.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Garlic and Shrimp

Add minced garlic and shrimp to the pot. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the shrimp turns pink.

  4. 4

    Add Tomatoes and Broth

Stir in the canned diced tomatoes, chicken broth, long grain rice, creole seasoning, bay leaves, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a boil.

  5. 5

    Simmer

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and has absorbed the liquid.

  6. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat, discard bay leaves, and fluff the jambalaya with a fork. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.
