Fried Fish Ingredients
Method
Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Fish
Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- 2
Marinate the Fish
Soak the fish fillets in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes to tenderize and add flavor.
- 3
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.
- 5
Coat the Fish
Remove the fish from the buttermilk, allowing excess buttermilk to drip off. Dredge each fillet in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating.
- 6
Fry the Fish
Carefully place the coated fish fillets into the hot oil. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- 7
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried fish from the oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve with lemon wedges.
