Method
Preparation
- 1
Season the Meat
In a small bowl, mix the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, and cumin. Rub this spice mixture all over the beef chuck roast to evenly coat.
- 2
Sear the Meat
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the seasoned beef chuck roast in the skillet and sear on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Cooking
- 3
Add Broth
Transfer the seared beef to a slow cooker or a pot. Pour the beef broth over the meat, ensuring it is well covered.
- 4
Cook the Meat
If using a slow cooker, set it on low and cook for 6-8 hours or until the meat is tender. If using a pot, cover and simmer on low heat for about 2-3 hours, checking occasionally to ensure it does not dry out.

Rest and Serve
Once cooked, remove the meat from the pot and let it rest for about 10 minutes. Slice and serve, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
