Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the rigatoni pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Bolognese Sauce

In a large skillet or saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, carrot, and celery, and sauté for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

  3. 3

    Add Garlic and Meat

Add the minced garlic and ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking the meat apart with a spoon, until browned, about 7-10 minutes.

  4. 4

    Season and Deglaze

Stir in the chopped rosemary and thyme. Pour in the red wine and cook for 2-3 minutes, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

  5. 5

    Add Tomato Sauce

Add the tomato sauce to the skillet, stirring to combine. Bring the sauce to a simmer and reduce the heat to low. Let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  6. 6

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Once the sauce has thickened, season with salt and black pepper to taste. Add the cooked rigatoni to the sauce and toss to coat well.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the rigatoni bolognese hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
