Method

Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the crust

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted unsalted butter. Mix until the crumbs are fully coated with butter.

  2. 2

    Form the crust

Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan evenly and firmly. Use the back of a measuring cup or your fingers to create a solid layer.

  3. 3

    Bake the crust

Bake the crust in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let it cool while you prepare the filling.

Filling Preparation

  1. 4

    Beat the cream cheese

In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.

  2. 5

    Add sugar and sour cream

Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue mixing until well combined. Then add the sour cream and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.

  3. 6

    Incorporate eggs

Add eggs one at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition until just blended. Be careful not to overmix.

  4. 7

    Add flour

Sprinkle the all-purpose flour over the mixture and fold it in gently with a spatula, ensuring no lumps remain.

Baking the Cheesecake

  1. 8

    Combine and bake

Pour the filling into the cooled crust, spreading it evenly. Bake in the oven at 325°F (160°C) for 55-60 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center slightly jiggles.

  2. 9

    Cool and chill

Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside with the door slightly ajar for 1 hour. Then remove it and cool it to room temperature. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

  3. 10

    Serve

Once chilled, carefully remove the cheesecake from the springform pan. Slice and serve chilled. Enjoy your classic cheesecake!
