Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Mushrooms
In a skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add sliced mushrooms and sauté until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and set aside.
- 2
Form the Patties
In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
- 3
Cook the Burgers
Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them. Place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burgers are cooked to your desired doneness.
- 4
Assemble the Burgers
Toast the burger buns lightly, if desired. On the bottom half of each bun, place a leaf of lettuce, a slice of tomato, the cooked burger with melted Swiss cheese, and a generous amount of sautéed mushrooms. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
