Curly Fries Ingredients

Method

Preparation Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Using a spiralizer or a curly fry cutter, cut the potatoes into curly shapes.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Coating

In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Coat the Potatoes

Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with a paper towel. Toss them in the flour mixture until evenly coated.

  6. 6

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the coated curly fries to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden and crispy, about 3-5 minutes.

  7. 7

    Drain and Serve

Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with additional salt and serve hot.
