Jalapeño Popper Ingredients

Method

Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Jalapeños

Preheat your deep fryer or a pot with oil to 350°F (175°C). Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes for less heat.

  2. 2

    Make the Filling

In a bowl, mix together the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined. Cook the bacon until crispy, chop it into small pieces, and add it to the cheese mixture.

  3. 3

    Stuff the Jalapeños

Using a spoon, fill each jalapeño half with the cheese and bacon mixture.

  4. 4

    Breading the Jalapeños

Set up a breading station: Place the flour in one bowl, beat the egg in another bowl, and place the breadcrumbs in a third bowl. Dredge each stuffed jalapeño in flour, dip into the egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.

  5. 5

    Fry the Jalapeños

Once the oil is hot, carefully place the breaded jalapeños in the oil in batches. Fry for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce!
