Instructions for Tiramisù Trifle
- 1
Prepare the Espresso Cake
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, whisk together eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy. Gradually add flour, baking powder, and salt. Fold in the prepared espresso. Pour the batter into a greased baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool.
- 2
Make the White Chocolate Mousse
Melt the chopped white chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then fold in the melted white chocolate and vanilla extract. Set aside.
- 3
Assemble the Trifle
Cut the cooled espresso cake into small cubes. In a trifle dish, layer half the cake cubes, followed by half of the white chocolate mousse, and half of the ladyfingers soaked in espresso. Add a layer of coffee gelée, then repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
- 4
Finish and Serve
Dust the top layer with cocoa powder. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld. Serve chilled.
