Preparation Instructions
1. Prepare the Mascarpone Custard
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the mascarpone cheese, egg yolks, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
2. Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.
3. Prepare the Coffee Mixture
In a shallow dish, combine the brewed coffee and rum. Stir well to mix.
4. Assemble the Tiramisu
Dip each ladyfinger biscuit into the coffee mixture for a few seconds until soaked but not soggy. Layer half of the soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a rectangular dish.
5. Layer the Custard
Spread half of the mascarpone custard mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and then the remaining custard.
6. Chill and Serve
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.
