Directions

  1. 1

    Preparation

Begin by cutting the beef sirloin into bite-sized cubes. Thinly slice the onion and bell pepper, and mince the garlic. Chop the tomato and set all ingredients aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Beef

In a large skillet or pot, heat the kibbeh-butter over medium-high heat. Add the beef cubes and season with salt and black pepper. Sear the beef until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 3

    Sauté the Vegetables

Add the sliced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 5 minutes, until the vegetables are softened.

  4. 4

    Add Tomatoes and Spices

Stir in the chopped tomato and berbere spice blend. Cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

  5. 5

    Simmer

Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper to taste.

  6. 6

    Serve

Once cooked, remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve hot with injera or rice.
