Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Lasagna Noodles

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add lasagna noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Spinach Filling

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add chopped spinach and cook until wilted, approximately 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Mix the Cheese Filling

In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, half of the shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, egg, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well combined.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Layer the Ingredients

In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom. Place 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by half of the spinach filling, half of the cheese mixture, and a third of the marinara sauce. Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of noodles topped with the remaining marinara sauce and the remaining mozzarella cheese.

Baking

  1. 5

    Bake the Lasagna

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover the lasagna with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

  2. 6

    Cool and Serve

Allow the lasagna to cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm, garnished with additional Parmesan if desired.
