Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Method
Filet Mignon
- 1
Prepare the Steak
Take the filet mignon out of the refrigerator and allow it to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps it cook more evenly.

Cook the Garlic
While the potatoes are cooking, peel and roughly chop the garlic cloves. In a small saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over low heat. Add the garlic and gently sauté until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Do not let it brown.

Mash the Potatoes
Once the potatoes are cooked, drain them and return them to the pot. Add the sautéed garlic, remaining butter, and heavy cream. Mash the mixture until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
