Meatball Base

BBQ Sauce (Optional)

Swedish Sauce (Optional)

Method

Making the Meatballs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, grated onion, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into balls about 2.5 cm in diameter. Place the formed meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Cook the Meatballs

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through and browned on the outside.

BBQ Sauce Preparation (Optional)

  1. 4

    Prepare BBQ Sauce

In a small saucepan, combine BBQ sauce, honey, and Worcestershire sauce. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until warmed through.

  2. 5

    Glaze Meatballs

Once the meatballs are done, remove them from the oven and brush or toss them with the prepared BBQ sauce. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to caramelize the sauce.

Swedish Sauce Preparation (Optional)

  1. 6

    Make the Sauce

In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour, cooking for about 1 minute until golden.

  2. 7

    Add Broth and Cream

Slowly whisk in the beef broth and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.

  3. 8

    Finish the Sauce

Stir in the soy sauce and dill. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
