Hummus
Pita Wedges
Method
Hummus Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chickpeas
Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas under cold water to remove excess sodium. Set aside.
- 2
Blend the Ingredients
In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, roasted red peppers, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, ground cumin, and salt. Blend until smooth.
- 3
Adjust Consistency
If the hummus is too thick, add water, one tablespoon at a time, blending until you reach the desired consistency. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- 4
Serve
Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle a pinch of paprika on top for garnish.
Pita Wedges Preparation
- 5
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- 6
Prepare the Pitas
Cut each pita bread into 6 wedges. Place them on a baking sheet.
- 7
Season the Wedges
Drizzle the olive oil over the pita wedges. Sprinkle with salt and paprika. Toss gently to coat the wedges evenly.
- 8
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the wedges are crispy and golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
- 9
Serve
Arrange the warm pita wedges on a serving platter alongside the hummus.
