Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the New York Strip steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. Pat them dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet or cast-iron pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering but not smoking.

  3. 3

    Sear the Steaks

Carefully place the steaks in the hot pan, making sure not to overcrowd. Sear for 4-5 minutes on one side until a deep brown crust forms.

  4. 4

    Flip and Add Aromatics

Flip the steaks and add the garlic cloves and rosemary to the pan. Cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, basting the steaks with the pan juices.

  5. 5

    Add Butter

In the last minute of cooking, add the butter to the pan and continue to baste the steaks until they reach your desired doneness.

  6. 6

    Rest and Serve

Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Serve with your favorite sides.
