Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

Add Wet Ingredients
Add the vegetable oil and warm water to the flour mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms.

Knead the Dough
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for about 2-3 minutes until smooth.

Rest the Dough
Cover the dough with a clean cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Roll Out the Dough
After resting, roll the dough out to about 1/4 inch thickness and cut into squares or triangles.

Fry the Sopapillas
In a deep skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Fry the dough pieces until they puff up and turn golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Drain and Serve
Remove the sopapillas from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve warm drizzled with honey.
