Churros

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Churro Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then remove from heat. Stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball. Let cool slightly. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until smooth.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a deep saucepan or fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Pipe the Churros

Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Carefully pipe strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting them to your desired length.

  4. 4

    Fry the Churros

Fry the churros until they are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Coat with Cinnamon Sugar

In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon. Roll the hot churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.

  6. 6

    Serve with Ice Cream

Serve the churros warm with a scoop of your favorite ice cream.
