Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brussels Sprouts

Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any damaged outer leaves. Cut any larger sprouts in half to ensure even cooking.

  2. 2

    Roast the Shallots

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the whole shallots on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with salt. Roast in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes until caramelized and tender.

  3. 3

    Cook the Apples

While the shallots are roasting, peel, core, and chop the apple into small cubes. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the apple cubes and cook until they are tender and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Set aside.

  4. 4

    Pan Roast the Brussels Sprouts

In a large skillet, heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Add the Brussels sprouts, cut side down, and season with salt and black pepper. Sear for about 5-7 minutes until they are golden brown, then flip and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until tender.

  5. 5

    Combine and Serve

Once the Brussels sprouts are done, remove them from heat and toss them with the sautéed apples and roasted shallots. Serve warm as a delicious side dish.
