Method

Cider Preparation

1

Prepare the Apples

Wash and core the apples, then cut them into quarters. Place the apple quarters into a large press or a juicer to extract the juice.

2

Juicing

Collect the fresh apple juice in a large clean container. You should have about 10 cups of juice from the apples.

3

Mix Ingredients

Add 1 cup of sugar to the apple juice and stir until fully dissolved. Then, add 2 cups of water to dilute the mixture.

4

Add Yeast

Sprinkle 1 tsp of yeast over the juice mixture and gently stir to combine. Cover the container with a clean cloth.

5

Fermentation

Allow the mixture to ferment at room temperature for about 1 week, stirring daily. You should notice bubbles forming as fermentation occurs.

6

Bottling

After 1 week, strain the mixture through a fine mesh to remove solids. Transfer the liquid into clean bottles, leaving some space at the top.

7

Second Fermentation

Seal the bottles tightly and let them sit at room temperature for another 1-2 weeks for carbonation to develop.

8

Chill and Serve

Once carbonated, chill the cider in the fridge. Serve cold and enjoy your homemade sparkling cider!
