Method
Winemaking Process
- 1
Harvesting
Harvest the Riesling grapes when they are ripe.
- 2
Crushing and Pressing
Crush and press the harvested grapes to extract the juice.
- 3
Fermentation
In a fermentation vessel, combine the grape juice with water, yeast, and sugar. Allow it to ferment at a controlled temperature for 2-4 weeks until fermentation is complete.
- 4
Secondary Fermentation
After primary fermentation, transfer the wine to a sealed container to undergo secondary fermentation, where it will develop its bubbles. This process can take another 2-4 weeks.
- 5
Carbonation
Add carbon dioxide to achieve the desired fizziness to the wine, adjusting to taste.
- 6
Bottling
Once the desired taste and carbonation is achieved, bottle the sparkling Riesling and seal it properly.
