Cordon Bleu Chicken Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Take each chicken breast and place it between two sheets of plastic wrap. Pound it with a meat mallet until it's about 1/2 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Stuff the Chicken

On each chicken breast, place a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese. Roll the chicken tightly, and secure the ends with toothpicks.

  3. 3

    Bread the Chicken

Set up a breading station: Place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs mixed with salt and pepper in a third. Dredge each chicken roll in flour, dip in egg, and then coat in breadcrumbs.

  4. 4

    Cook the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the breaded chicken rolls and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 4-5 minutes per side. Transfer to a baking dish.

  5. 5

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted.

  6. 6

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the chicken is baking, steam or sauté the fresh vegetables until tender but still crisp.

  7. 7

    Serve

Remove toothpicks from the chicken rolls, slice them, and serve with the fresh vegetables on the side.
