Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and gently pound them to an even thickness of about 1/4 inch.
- 2
Fill the Chicken
Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Place a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese on each chicken breast. Roll the chicken tightly, securing the ends with toothpicks if necessary.
- 3
Coat the Chicken
Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with bread crumbs. Dredge each chicken roll in flour, dip in eggs, and coat with bread crumbs.
- 4
Cook the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add the chicken rolls and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- 5
Bake the Chicken
Transfer the chicken rolls to a baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- 6
Serve
Remove the toothpicks, slice the chicken rolls, and serve warm. Enjoy your Chicken Cordon Bleu!
