Meatball Calzone Ingredients
Method
Preparation Directions
- 1
Make the Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, cooked and crumbled bacon, ricotta cheese, Italian breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined. Form into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.

- 3
Prepare the Calzone
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a large circle, about 12 inches in diameter. Spread marinara sauce over half of the dough, leaving a border around the edge.
- 4
Assemble the Calzone
Place the cooked meatballs on top of the marinara, and then sprinkle mozzarella and provolone cheese over the meatballs. Fold the other half of the dough over the filling and crimp the edges to seal.
- 5
Bake the Calzone
Transfer the calzone to a baking sheet. Brush the top with olive oil and make a few slits on top to allow steam to escape. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- 6
Serve
Allow the calzone to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with additional marinara sauce for dipping.
