Preparing the Mussels
- 1
Clean the Mussels
Start by cleaning the mussels. Rinse them under cold water, scrubbing the shells to remove any grit or barnacles. Discard any mussels that are cracked or open and do not close when tapped.
- 2
Sauté Garlic
In a large pot, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, until fragrant but not browned.
- 3
Add White Wine
Pour in the white wine and bring the mixture to a simmer.

- 5
Season with Herbs
Once the mussels are cooked, stir in the chopped fresh herbs (parsley, thyme, basil), sea salt, and black pepper to taste. Mix well.
Preparing the Ciabatta
- 6
Preheat Oven
While the mussels are cooking, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

- 8
Toast Ciabatta
Place the ciabatta halves on a baking sheet and toast in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.

Serve the Dish
Once the mussels are ready, serve them hot in a large bowl with the broth. Accompany with the toasted ciabatta for dipping.
